Offcuts, pieces, swarf and components made from stainless steel or alloys may belong to different grades. Missing markings, mixed materials and contamination make visual identification alone less reliable. Origin, separation and, where appropriate, instrumental verification are needed to build homogeneous batches.

MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION
XRF elemental analysis can help distinguish grades that are difficult to identify visually. Results are considered together with origin, markings, form and the material's condition.
SEPARATE FLOWS
Separating grades at the production point protects batch homogeneity. Clearly identified containers reduce accidental mixing with ferrous scrap or incompatible alloys.
After collection, the material is inspected and prepared for specialist steelworks, foundries or operators according to its actual composition.
