Copper is not a single category.

Cables, bars, offcuts, pipes and machining residues may contain very different percentages of copper. Coatings, terminals, other metals and impurities change both batch classification and the recovery route. A precise description prevents unlike materials from being treated as equivalent.

CLASSIFICATION

Form and cleanliness determine the recovery route.

Two batches of the same weight may have very different characteristics. For cables, conductor size, insulation type and terminals matter; for offcuts, homogeneity, oxidation and machining contaminants must be considered. The assessment is based on the actual material rather than a generic description.

Do you assess insulated cables?

Yes. Industrial insulated cables can be assessed, provided information is available on type, conductor size, quantity and any terminals or associated materials.

Can copper and brass be placed in the same container?

It is preferable to keep them separate. Separate collection reduces classification errors and allows each alloy to be assessed correctly.
